Ever since Howard and I got back from Australia, G has been asking (whining, actually), “When do WE get to go to Australia?” So when the Outback Kangaroo Farm opened for the season, I was excited to take her since she has been obsessed with kangaroos and their joeys. The kids didn’t have school today, and it was actually dry, so it was a perfect time to make the trek up to Arlington.
We got to go into the wallabies’ penned area and feed them bread. They were really tame, and their fur was so soft. The farm actually sells wallabies, and I was so tempted. Aren’t they adorable?

All the animals at the farm are accustomed to being fed by the visitors. If you put a food pellet in your mouth, the llamas will go up to you and gently take it from your lips.

Oh that is so adorable – I am glad you found a day to go!
Hee hee. He looks like he is getting a Llama kiss. Your pictures are great Cindy.
ohmy! that looks like such an amazing place! I’m jealous!
That looks like fun and something our grand kids would love.
How fun! What a cool place!
awwww brings back so many memories! So neat that you have a place near home to see the gorgeous aussie animals!
looks like a great outing, brave son you have. can’t believe you can buy a wallaby, as a pet?
How FUN!!! My kids would love this. (And whining? what’s that?!

THis looks like such a fun outing. Who can blame her for like this — Your images capture their day so well.
oh cute! looks like a great outing!
first two shots – great! very cute! third shot – whoa. that’s a little close there. are you sure they’re safe? i mean, there’s that recent story about the “trained” orca whale at sea world. well, ok. at least it’s not that close. fourth shot – …….. …..ohhhh kay….uh….at least his mouth is closed. (seriously, i was stunned for awhile.) fifth shot – whew…
but i’m glad they had a good time. that’s what counts! yay for mom taking them all the way out to the farm!
LOL, Mitch! I was shocked that D actually did that because he was hesitant to even feed the gentle wallabies.
